Amber's Skincare Regimen

Oh how I love skincare; probably more than makeup itself. I believe that if you take great care of your skin, you don’t need to cover it with makeup everyday. One of my first jobs out of college was working for Estee Lauder and prior to that, I didn’t know where to begin with skincare and makeup. I was like a sponge and absorbed everything Estee Lauder taught me. One thing I never forgot was the golden rule in cosmetics. For every day you sleep in your makeup, you will age three days. That statement has stayed with me over the years and guided how I care for my skin. While my products may change, my consistency with applying them is the key to healthy, glowing skin.

To start my day, I use Clarins Exfoliating Face Scrub to cleanse and exfoliate my face in the shower each morning. After getting out, I apply Sisley Botanical Floral Mist as my toner to prep my skin for my repair products and moisturizer. It soothes and relaxes your skin, moisturizing and removing left behind traces of makeup. I let that soak in before applying Clarins Extra Firming Eye Cream along with the Firming Serum. Clarins is a plant-based cosmetic line and all of their products feel and smell amazing. I use a jade roller along my jaw bone and cheeks to wake up the skin and enhance the jawline after applying the serum. Once that has soaked into my skin, I apply Sisley’s All Day All Year which offers moisture that lasts all day and is gentle enough for everyday use. It softens and protects your skin, while keeping harmful free-radicals at bay, protecting the skin from UVA/UVB rays. I love to apply Aquaphor to my lips after I have completed my morning skincare routine and let it sit while I dry my hair.

I am in love with Virtue products for hair care. Not only do they smell delicious and feel amazing, but they are gluten-free, sulfate-free and paragon-free for safe, daily use. I use in the leave in conditioner and grab my Dyson for a quick blowout. Dyson has mastered the art of drying hair and made it so easy for those of us with a lot of hair. What used to take 30 minutes takes me about 10 minutes and I love knowing that by using my Dyson, I am reducing the damage on my hair. Once dried, I use Oribe’s Anti-Humidity Spray because living in Florida is a recipe for frizzy hair. is It Florida tested and designed to fight humidity in even the warmest climates. I then finish off styling my hair with the Oribe Texture Spray for extra hold. It adds volume while absorbing oil at the roots. It serves as the perfect dry shampoo and styling spray duo.

It is absolutely essential to have a body lotion that you use daily, after you shower. I love Clarins Body Fit Cream. It is an anti-celulite cream that lifts, firms and protects the skin with a plant-based formula. Another great option is The Body Cream by Augustinus Bader. This product also has a firming formula, focused on protecting and rejuvenating your skin. It uses shea butter, verbena flower extract and a host of other plant-powered ingredients to help you look and feel your best.

I am a sucker for good mask and really try to do masks on Sundays to relax and prepare for the week ahead. Sisley’s Black Rose Mask always leaves my skin glowing and refreshed. This mask works to purify the skin, creating a youthful glow with ingredients like Black Rose, Padina pavonica, and Alkekengi calyx extracts. If my eyes are feeling puffy or dehydrated, I reach for Skyn’s Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels. I apply them for about 15 minutes. Skyn uses Icelandic glacial waters to hydrate and reverse signs of premature aging. I also take these on every trip to apply while flying for instant hydration.

Before going to bed, it is so important to wash your skin with a good cleanser even if you didn’t wear any makeup that day. I love Clarins Foaming Cleanser to remove makeup and cleanse my skin. It is soothing, creamy and washes away impurities without irritating the skin. I then follow with Vintner’s Daughter Active Treatment Essence which prepares my skin for the Vintner's Daughter Botanical Serum that is infused with nutrients and repairs the skin from harmful free radicals we encounter daily. Vintner’s Daughter is known for creating plant-based elixirs to moisturize and replenish the skin. They are the best in the business when it comes to facial serums. Lastly, I apply La Mer Soft Cream for maximum moisture. It ultra-smooth and lightweight and infused with sea kelp to moisturize and protect against premature signs of aging. I end my routine with Sisley’s Eye Cream. It is important to use a separate eye cream as the skin in the eye area is more delicate than the rest of your face. This eye cream is a favorite of mine because it uses atlas cedar extract and pomegranate fermented extract to reverse signs of aging and lighten age spots. It can also be used on your lips to maximize anti-aging benefit.
