Quiet Luxury, the Summer Trend to Watch For
What does “luxury” clothing mean to you? For some, the answer is clothing that screams the name of its source; Louis Vuitton monogrammed, Gucci embellished, Chanel embroidered. Some might say luxury clothing is simply made from the highest quality materials; soft cashmere, organic cotton, or fine silks free of any noticeable brand reference beyond the tag on the inside of the garment.
Not all high-ticket brands are created equal. Some don’t speak as loud as others, even if they are comparable in price. The quieter brands are increasingly gaining popularity amongst consumers and we are in complete support of it.
If your style lends to a quiet luxury feel, we wanted to introduce you to some brands and styles that will help you to achieve the look.
Generally speaking, the quiet luxury look is simplistic, discrete, and tailored. Quiet luxury isn’t flashy, branded, or overdone. In my opinion, this style puts more of an emphasis on the wearer, instead of what she’s wearing. It oozes with confidence and an “if you know, you know” aura.
The “it” brands to know are Bottega Veneta, Frame, Éterne, Vince, Smythe, and The Row.
The Quiet Luxury style is really a subset of any of the primary styles like edgy, feminine, sporty, etc. And the trend also transcends categories of clothing. Some pieces that luxury brands do best and you’re going to want to have in your closet are a quality tee, a structured trouser, a leather handbag, a blazer, a comfortable pair of shoes, and a trusty pair of jeans.
I wanted to share some of my personal favorites within each of those categories that have endless styling opportunities:
The Quiet Luxury trend puts an emphasis on the value of a garment’s fabrication and design rather than the logo. This truly goes to the heart of what Jackie is all about. A woman should feel luxurious in whatever she puts on, and that doesn’t have to be tied to any branding per se, but rather the fabrics and design.
