Sabel's Top 5 Staple Tops

Basics are so important to me. I can’t imagine any wardrobe without them because they truly are the foundation of any wardrobe. There are five, basic tops from our Spring Collection that I think every woman needs in her closet. These basics don’t even include the jackets or coats that I would consider to be staples, nor does it include staple bottoms. We’ll save that for another blog. ;)

Sabel’s Top 5 Staple Tops

A Classic, White Tee

The first is a plain white tee; a crew neck, a v-neck, whichever you prefer. This Enza Costa white v-neck pictured here is a bodysuit, even better! I typically tuck my shirts into whatever pant I’m wearing for a more defined waistline. Think about all of the endless pants you could wear with a white tee shirt. Not going to lie, if I’m ever in a “what should I wear?!” rut, I naturally gravitate towards the blue denim and white tees in my closet.

A Black Shirt

When it comes to basics, Stateside knows best. I love a mock-turtleneck tops because it is such a simple, beautiful and elegant style. Pair it with a high pony and a classic earring, like a gold hoop to complete the look.

I would absolutely consider silk to be a basic for any woman’s closet. Be it a skirt, top, duster or pants, silk is so important. It can take an outfit from drab to fab. It can be elegant yet casual and can easily go from day to night. It’s so feminine too. Not to mention, cozy! Even though I already have a few silk pieces in my wardrobe, I will definitely be needing this Cami NYC top because of the button detailing. I love it!

A Long Sleeve Crew Neck

I love this Enza Costa blush, nude top. I would wear this with a pair of black denim. Since I live in Florida, I would pair with a black short and a tennis shoes for daytime. For a night out, I’d wear the same bodysuit with a pair of black pants and a heel.

Something Red

Some people would consider red to be a “pop,” something out of the ordinary. Some people would say red should only be found on handbags, accessories or your fingernails. While I definitely paint my nails red more often than not (shoot they’re red right now), it’s definitely a staple in my wardrobe in the form of tops. This Enza Costa baseball tee is the perfect example. I love to add some menswear-inspired pieces to my wardrobe, so this kills two birds with one stone.
