1. Can you tell me about yourself?
I am a native Floridian born in Tampa, Florida and have been married for 3 years. I have worked as a professional photographer over the last decade and stepped into my role as Jackie's Creative Director 2.5 years ago.
2. During your working day, what kind of work might you typically do?
I am the head of our creative team so I make all the final creative direction decisions. My main tasks include creating a vision for, but not limited to, ads, videos, photoshoots, Reels, and IGTVS. Once I have the vision, it's my role to create the plan on how to execute it. Once I have styled, filmed or photographed the content, I am the one to edit it all before it goes live on our social media pages.
3. What is your favorite thing about your job?
Since I was a little girl, I have always considered myself a creative person. Whether through fashion, design, or photography, I enjoy all things creative. My favorite thing is having the opportunity to be creative every day which makes work always fulfilling. Social media is ever-evolving with new features so there is always new content you can try and put out to your audience. At Jackie, we have been really enjoying the Reels feature on Instagram and being able to engage with our audience in a different way than just traditional photography. 4. What is challenging about your job?
You have to come into work every day on your A-game to make sure you are staying relevant and constantly creating new content. I can also never really shut it off. There is no such thing as a day off in a creative field because my mind is always thinking of new ways we could create content.
5. How did you start working for Jackie?
I had just graduated college and was trying to rebuild my photography clientele back home since I had been gone for 4 years. I had reached out to a few brands to get my foot in the door with doing some freelance work for them and Jackie was one of the brands I connected with. I did one team photoshoot and as they say, the rest is history!
6. When and where do you do your best creative thinking?
Most of my creative ideas happen at night when I'm home. That is when my creative thoughts are the clearest and I can get a lot of editing done. During the evening is also when I will spend a lot of time researching social trends seeing how we could apply them to our brand and business model at Jackie. I pull a lot of inspiration from Pinterest, fashion blogs, and Reels that are trending.
7. When did you first get into photography?
I was a sophomore in high school when my parents gifted me my first DSLR camera so I could take a beginner photography class at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota. From there, I started taking senior portraits for my friends in high school, to shooting my first of many weddings throughout college, to earning my Bachelor's degree in Photography from the University of Central of Florida. Fast forward to ten years later from getting my first camera, I am living my dream working as a professional photographer and Creative Director for an incredible company.
