Why You Need to Start Your Own Business Already
There are two types of individuals in the world. Most see these two groups as employees and business owners, however, I always refer to them as those who make other people money and those who know their worth and make money for themselves. I know you might be thinking that sounds hard, but it is the reality of the situation. This is why I am going to clearly outline for you why you need to start your own business already. It honestly is hard to watch you making someone else rich!
Do you know what your greatest talent is to its core? Why are you with your current employer and what is it that you bring to the table that no one else does or can do? Once someone values their own worth, they began to see the world through a different lens.
To our core, we each have a driving force. I love helping people and solving problems for individuals which, in turn, makes them feel better about themselves and their situation. If you look at the many businesses I have been a part of, you will notice an underlying theme where I am using this exact gift to grow each of my businesses. It really never feels like work because it's who I am to my core. What is that for you?
One of my favorite excuses from individuals for not starting their own business is this one right here. People say they donβt feel ready or feel that things have to be perfect before taking a leap of faith. I am here to tell you that the most successful individuals were and are never ready, but they are determined to jump and figure things out as they go.
It takes you walking away from what you know as safe to experience the good things entrepreneurship has to offer those who choose this path. It isn't easy, but it is worth it to those who go all in determined with a mindset to learn, grow and chase it like your back is against the wall. That is when it all comes together. Do not wait for the perfect time or until you feel like you know everything. Do the hardest part and go all in. Trust me, the rest will follow.
I keep my circle small and choose to spend time with individuals who inspire me to grow personally, spiritually and professionally. I have no capacity for small talk, but desire to be around individuals who I aspire to be more like in those areas of my life. If you are going to open that business, find your circle of inspiring people so you have mentors in place for you to reach out to and support your decision.
I have always enjoyed helping others succeed and achieve goals they set for themselves almost more than my own success. Reach out and show initiative and I promise people will recognize it and support you in this journey.
Starting your own business is not for the weak. You will have good days and bad, but you must stick with it and push through the bad to get to the good to reach the great! It is not a matter of if, but a matter of when and the when comes to those who do not give up. Yes, you will get stuck. Yes, you will have people in your ear telling you to go back to work because it is safe. Yes you will feel broke for a while and be living on macaroni and cheese, but let this serve as a reminder. If you take this leap of faith and work like no one else around you, you will live like no one else around you.
I find sometimes I want it for people more than they want it for themselves, however when an individual finally realizes their worth in this world, then and only then, are they able to take the leap of faith into the freedom entrepreneurship has to offer. You are the only person responsible for where you are. If your current situation does not serve you, change it. Stop thinking about it and talking about it to others. As Nike so eloquently says, "Just do it."
